I. Foundation Language Skills (Years 1-2)
In years 1 and 2, students receive intensive instruction in basic language skills (reading and listening, writing and speaking as well as presentation and discussion skills), laying the foundation for professional and academic success. Learn more about our Foundation English Language Courses.

II. Humanities Specialization (Years 1-4)
Over the 4 year program, students receive a quality education in the humanities including literary, cultural and media studies covering the UK, the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and other areas of the English-speaking world. Lecture courses and seminars are offered in English and Japanese, with a focus on critical thinking, research, essay writing and presentation skills. Learn more about our Academic Courses.

III. Academic and Professional English Skills (Years 3-4)
Students focusing on job hunting or planning to attend a post-graduate institution receive advanced academic and professional English skills. Specialized courses prepare students for overseas studies; working as an elementary, junior or senior school English teacher; working in international English contexts or doing graduate work in Japan or abroad.

IV. IT Literacy (Years 1-4)
Students in all years have the opportunity to acquire the necessary tools for success in today’s globally networked world: word processing, spreadsheet / database applications, PowerPoint presentation software, typing skills, email communication, use of SNS, language-learning apps, sound recording and Internet radio program production, video production, web publishing, Internet search and library database skills.

V. Overseas Study Programs (Years 1-3)
Students can choose short- or long-term studies in the U.S., the U.K. or Canada. Students wishing to  qualify as international exchange student as part of the ISEP program or with one of Chukyo University’s partner schools may enter a special advanced curriculum in their first-year of studies.
