The course will survey American history and culture during the latter half of the 20th century. We will examine the effect of events both nationally and international on the course of American history therefore bringing us to a greater understanding of how the present political and social climate in the United States came to be established.

Course objectives include: listening, reading and discussion skills; knolwedge of American history in the 20th century

The course will combine lecture, group work and discussion styles. Students are expected to have the readings finished before each class and be prepared to be active in discussions and to ask questions of interest to them.
